Learn to Row: Rowing Drills and Technique – How to Hold the Sculling Oar

Happy Motivation Monday and Earth Day!

This is another installment in my series – Motivation Mondays – to help you get your week off to a good start with a tip, technique or motivational workout you can use immediately.

This short video (3:02), from Rowing Coaching, covers all the specifics on how to properly hold the sculling oars: the grip, where your fingers go, how the hands work together on the recovery, positioning of the elbows at the release, the feather and square, the catch and much more.

It was shot in an indoor rowing tank so the sound and video quality aren’t top notch but the content is very good. Enough detail to be specific without information overload.
